These next sets of images are from the book Frank Miller, The Art of Sin City. Here you see the first 2 images being the rough and the finished products, the third and fourth are just an amazing mesh of lines. What struck me in this book is the starkness of back and white. Miller has excellent technique and manages to convey not only what is going on in the scene but also the emotion the character is feeling. What is really inspiring is the detail he gets into to finally create a very simple yet complex image. His art takes story telling to a different level by capturing the mood of the character as well as the mood of the entire scene. If I had the opportunity I would post all the images that are in this book.
